Sabrina

I grew up outside of Detroit, MI and received two bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and French Literature from Kalamazoo College. During that time, I worked in Laura Furge’s lab studying the pharmacokinetics of human CYP450 enzymes. After graduation, I worked as a genomics research assistant in Germany at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology and the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research & Infection Biology. In the Feschotte lab, I'm working as part of the HIV Obstruction by Programmed Epigenetics (HOPE) Collaboratory. HOPE is a multi-institutional group which aims to permanently silence and then excise the latent viral reservoir in people living with HIV by mimicking and accelerating the natural endogenization process that has inactivated many HERVs. Outside of lab, I’m the vice Chair of Ithaca DSA and spend most of my free time working with local political groups.
